The Science of Stealth Deployment

Applying SCIENCE lets you deploy a light source at night into unlit water without spooking marine life away from your nets. It begins with anchoring your light and creating a grandiose light field out in front of your boat.

True SCIENCE is only possible when utilizing an EXPANDED purpose light. To achieve repeatable tactical advantages on the water, your equipment must meet three strict structural criteria:

• Upright Vertical Orientation: The light must deploy vertically to cast a uniform, scientifically calculated underwater radius.
• Precise Depth & Location Control: You must be able to control exactly where the light sits in the water column.
• Adaptable Strategic Deployment: The system must offer adjustable modes and configurations to match changing marine conditions.

Ultimately, science is REPEATABLE and produces CONSISTENT results. Luck is RANDOM and produces INCONSISTENT results. By removing guesswork from your setup, you transition from relying on chance to executing a proven marine life manipulation strategy.

Setting The Perfect Depth

Mastering your deployment depth ensures optimal marine life manipulation. Use the official Capt. Lee Noga patented Depth Formula to calibrate your system.

The Depth Calculation Formula:  [DEPTH – 8]. This creates unlit water above the light, so fish feel safe at the top of the water column, away from the light. The light below illuminates an 18-foot-radius circle (depending on water clarity), and you’ll see anything that swims over the top of it in unlit water. This is called backlighting or stealth mode

For years, night fishing relied on high-powered illumination that flooded the water, blinding wildlife and sending target species into an immediate panic. Capt. Lee changed the sport forever by decoding how marine life responds to light frequencies, developing a science-based approach that preserves the nighttime ecosystem while driving unparalleled angling success.

It is a true mind-bending illusion. When we look down at that glowing green surface, our brains naturally assume the illumination extends all the way to the top. In reality, the top 4 to 5 feet of water directly below the surface is completely dark. There is NO light illumination. Years ago, we sent down a diver; we know.

The proof is in the behavior captured right on camera. Take a look at this footage: a baby manatee is swimming calmly through what looks like unlit water to the human eye. To the animal, the surface water remains completely black, providing an absolute sense of safety. Normally, manatees avoid boats because they can visually detect the hull as a threat. However, MacDaddy lights engineered a breakthrough known as “black water tech,” or affectionately called Stealth-mode.

By projecting the light spectrum strictly outward in a 360-degree circular pattern, it creates a zone of natural black water directly above the light source. The boat itself remains entirely unlit from below. Because the animal senses no danger and sees no artificial glare, it swims directly under the boat, completely calm and unbothered, continuing on its natural course.

This isn’t a coincidence; it is data-proven behavioral manipulation. Capt. Lee’s research allows anglers to introduce light into the marine environment without putting a single species on high alert. You achieve peak fishing success by building real skill and working with nature, catching your targets without ever sending panic through the ecosystem.

In summary, this was the first concrete proof that we can manipulate marine life using light frequency without them sensing danger. This was the beginning of publishing & teaching “black tech,” also known as “stealth mode.”

Anchoring Formula is 𝐃−8=𝐗

• You must attach a longline clip to the bottom of the light opposite; there are 2 attachment points on the lower endcap, designed and patented to deliver our science. One attachment clip, one attachment rope.
• Tie no more than 20 feet of crab pot line to the bottom of your light
• Add NO more than an 8 lb weight ( hand weight, pour concrete weights, etc)
• Take your depth, subtract 8, and “X” is the number of feet you count upward from the lead and clip off with a longline clip.
• D: Total water depth in feet (via sonar or estimate).
• X: Measurement distance up from your anchor weight.
• If your depth is 15 feet, the formula is 15(D) – 8 = 7(X); touch your weight, count up your anchor line 7 ft, and clip off. This creates the right amount of unlit water above your light for stealth fishing.

Step-by-Step Deployment Steps:

1. Calculate your target: If total depth is 12 feet, your formula is (Depth-8+): 12- 8 = 4 foot
2. Measure the rope: Touch your anchor weight. Count up 4 feet along the rope.
3. Secure the line: Clamp the rope at that exact mark using the Longline Clip (Part E).
4. Inspect the field: Look closely into the active light field.

Visual Calibration Check:

• Identify targets: Can you mark any marine life or moving debris?
• Adjustment protocol: If yes, pull the light back in. Move the clip 6 inches up the rope. Re-deploy the light.

Pro Tidal Water Tip:
Repeat this adjustment 2 to 3 times in moving tidal currents. Your ultimate goal is to sink the light as low as possible while maintaining clear visibility of active marine life and debris. Why? In tidal water, the outgoing tide will lower the water level, reducing the amount of unlit water above the light. That is why, at the start of the night, you want as much unlit water above the light as possible, knowing the outgoing tide will reduce it over the next 6 hours.

• The single biggest mistake happens three hours into the tide change, when the water level drops by a foot or more.
• Because your lights are now too close to the surface, the shrimp change their behavior, swimming directly beneath your light field and right under the boat. Remember, Florida winter shrimp are light-sensitive, and your lights are pushing them down into darker water.

When you look over the side into your light field, you see no targets, just debris; you assume the shrimp run is officially over. But it’s not. The run is only over for you. At the 3-hour mark, the tide is ripping around a full moon, and trying to reset the lights is a nightmare; they slide back and settle near the boat hull.

You never want to see hot spots in your field. This means your lights are set too high, and you need to lower them in the water column so they look like the slide above. This example uses 3 lights to emphasize what’s happening.

• Mode 5: High-Speed Strobe – A disruptive profile engineered to break up and back off aggressive catfish or dense bait pods that hover over and completely black out your light field. Nuisance fish are typically cleared out in less than 5 minutes. Warning: Avoid looking into the light field if you have epilepsy or a light-sensitive medical condition.
• Mode 6: Low-Speed Strobe – A target-manipulation mode designed to boil larger shrimp up from the lower water column. This is a highly popular profile that many anglers leave active all night. Pro Tip: Run only one light in slow strobe mode at a time to prevent eye fatigue. Warning: Avoid looking directly into the light if you have a light-sensitive medical condition.
• Mode 7: Half Power Slow Strobe – A dual-purpose shallow-water tactical tool. It is excellent for pier anglers navigating shallow 7-foot cuts in the Florida Keys. In Central Florida, it serves perfectly as a “sacrificial light” positioned 2 feet off the bottom to drive jumbo shrimp up into the upper water column for easy harvesting. Warning: Avoid looking at the light if you have light sensitivity.
• Mode 8 [/SOS]: Emergency Signal Mode – An active, built-in distress beacon engineered onto the internal processor chip to provide critical safety visibility during nighttime emergencies. Regulatory Notice: This mode is designed as an emergency beacon but is NOT Coast Guard certified as an official life-saving safety device.

BAIT Blackout – every single fishing light on the market will attract bait fish which can black out your light blocking illumination . The bait can ve quite invasive and will hover in large numbers encapsulating your light making it appear as if your battery went dead. There is NO way to stop the bait from ruining your night. Your light caused this issue.

• Capt. Lee Noga discovered a specific light frequency designed to aggressively disrupt and offend the junk fish which will slowly back away allow the light to illuminate partially. You will most likely have to strobe for the rest of the night On/Off. BUT, it allows you to remain and still hookup or net.
• The intensity of this strobe is so powerful that you cannot look directly at it without feeling the effect.

Activating it will break up the tight ball of bait within 45 seconds, opening up the jam just enough to let your light field peek through. Will it give you 100% of your clean light field back? No. But it will give you more than enough visibility to keep successfully harvesting. When the bait is thick, you might be in this gunfight for a while, meaning you will need to fire off the strobe often to keep the zone clear.
